PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi to step down after 12 years at helm

掌舵12年，百事可乐CEO卢英德即将卸任

NEW DELHI: Long-serving PepsiCo chief executive officer (CEO) Indra Nooyi is going to step down from her position, the company said on Monday.

新德里：百事公司周一宣布，任职多年的首席执行官卢英德即将卸任。

Indian-origin Nooyi has been at the helm of the New York-based company for 12 years.

来自印度的卢英德执掌这家总部位于纽约的公司已有12年。

PepsiCo president Ramon Laguarta will replace Nooyi, the food and beverage company added.

百事公司补充称，公司总裁拉蒙·拉瓜尔塔将接替卢英德继任CEO一职。

"Board of Directors has unanimously elected Ramon Laguarta, 54, to succeed Indra K. Nooyi, 62, as Chief Executive Officer," the statement said.

声明称：“董事会一致推选54岁的拉蒙·拉瓜尔塔接替62岁的卢英德担任首席执行官。”

The 62-year-old IIM-Calcutta and Yale alumnus is often credited with working towards making Pepsico's offerings healthier.

现年62岁的卢英德，毕业于印度加尔各答管理学院和耶鲁大学，一直致力于使百事可乐的产品变得更健康。

"Nooyi will step down on October 3rd after 24 years with the company, the last 12 as CEO. She will remain Chairman until early 2019 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Laguarta was also elected to the company's Board of Directors, effective October 3rd," the statement also said.

卢英德将于10月3日卸任，她在百事任职24年，其中后面12年担任公司CEO。她将继续担任董事长一职直到2019年初，以确保公司最高领导的平稳无缝过渡。拉瓜尔塔也入选公司董事会，于10月3日生效。

Reflecting upon her stint Nooyi said, "Leading PepsiCo has truly been the honor of my lifetime, and I'm incredibly proud of all we have done over the past 12 years to advance the interests not only of shareholders, but all our stakeholders in the communities we serve."

Nooyi took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express her 'mixed emotions'.

The Chennai-born Madras Christian College graduate who also holds the distinction of being the first independent woman director of the International Cricket Council (ICC) joined PepsiCo in 1994 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Planning before taking over the top job in 2006.

卢英德出生于金奈，曾就读于马德拉斯基督教学院，同时也是国际板球理事会的首位独立女董事。她于1994年加入百事公司，担任高级副总裁，负责公司的战略规划，于2006年接任百事CEO。

Speaking on her successor, Nooyi said : "Ramon Laguarta is exactly the right person to build on our success. He is a terrific executive with a long and proven track record of growing businesses. He has a deep understanding of the changing preferences of consumers and other critical trends unfolding around the world, and he has demonstrated that he knows how to navigate them successfully. Ramon has been a critical partner in running the company, and I'm confident he will take PepsiCo to new and greater heights in the years to come."

Laguarta, a 22-year veteran of PepsiCo, oversaw global operations, corporate strategy, public policy and go nment affairs in his role as president.
